Back in NYC
Friday, August 27, 2010 at 08:50PM
Travels are over- we're back in NYC. I've much to say about our trip, and I'll do so soon. For now, though, let me say that I had the most brilliant birthday ever. The Humphry Slocombe/BGICT party was terrific. Having Jane Wiedlin's Big Gay Ice Cream Song appear for sale that day, and having her at the party? Jane singing Happy Birthday to me? What can I say to express what I am still feeling?
Here's a photo stolen from Humphry Slocombe's Facebook page. Bryan and I are with Jane, about to toast her new song.

You can buy the fabulous Tranny Smackdown Commemorative Tee (designed by Jason O'Malley) over here.
Thank you Jane, Jason, Jake and Sean. Thank you BRYAN for rigging it all together and for the absurd unicorn cake. Thanks to mom and dad for mistakenly creating me 39 years ago!

That cake is amazing!
Isn't it deliriously wonderful?? Bryan and I joke about unicorns and rainbows all the time. When the cake arrived I honestly squealed like a little girl! The liquor helped.
The cake was baked by the folks who run http://www.bakerandbanker.com/ . It was salted chocolate... and DELICIOUS. Apparently the unicorn arrived without pupils, and it was so scary that Jake Godby added the pupils with Sharpie. I hope no one got ink poisoning...
